Join us on this 5-days, 4 nights yoga, wellness, and adventure retreat opened to all levels of yoga practitioners.
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is a mystical and exotic region declared by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. It is the land of the Arhuaco, Kogi, Wiwa, and Kankuamo indigenous tribes who through daily meditations and rituals maintain their deep commitment to restoring the balance between the spiritual and the ecological world.
Through the practice of self-love, yoga, meditation, sound baths, kirtan, sacred ceremonies, organic food, daily excursions, and wellness treatments we will heal and recharge. We will also learn about the culture of the Wiwas and explore the jungle, waterfalls, sacred lagoons and mysterious rivers.
LOCATION
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta has an ecosystem unlike any other. Reaching a height of nearly 19,000 feet, this multi-peaked volcanic massif is the world’s highest coastal mountain. There are multiple ecological zones; wetlands and mangroves along the coast, tropical rain forests, deserts, alpine tundra, and finally at the top are the snow-capped peaks. Thousands of plants and animal species have been found here, including 628 bird species—about as many as in the United States and Canada combined.
Playa Koralia is an eco-chic luxury hotel located on a virgin seashore where the snowcapped Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta tumbles into the the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the dreamiest and most secluded beaches on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
There are 17 bungalows dotted around Koralia’s grounds with relaxing hammock-strewn porches. Cabins have a touch of rustic jungle romance with open roofed- bathrooms allowing a great perspective of the Sierra Nevada’s starry nights.
Enjoy dining amongst the leafy palm trees in Koralia's open-air dining space and experience the richest and highest quality natural flavors. An organic farm feeds the gastronomic restaurant’s menu.

CO-FOUNDER / YOGA INSTRUCTORAfter a long and successful career owning and managing international luxury fashion boutiques Oxygene, in Bal Harbour, Shayne took her experience in the luxury market and partnered it with her other passion – yoga and wellness.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Shayne Cohen grew up as a competitive gymnast, developing strength and flexibility at a very young age. She was initiated into yoga by Sri Dharma Mitra in New York City. For nearly 30 years she has remained fully committed to her yoga path.
Shayne focuses on asana practice, meditation, chanting and acutonics sound vibration healing. She is a group and private wellness coach and is fully dedicated to inspiring others to follow the path of wholesomeness.

CO-FOUNDER / DIRECTORBorn and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Adriana is a celebrated contemporary art consultant based in Miami, Florida. She spent the past twenty years immersed in the world of arts and culture working with many local and national art institutions including the Bass Museum, Rubell Museum, CodeArt, Miami City Ballet among others.
Her dedication to a yoga practice for over 15 years led her to co-found Anahata Eco Yoga Retreats to serve those who have the same passion for yoga, travel, nature and wellness. Adriana completed The Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild, folk herbalism and spiritual ecology; and RYT 200 Sadhana Power Vinyasa.

MUSICIANMy journey in the field of personal development started in 2014 working as an behavior therapist while pursuing my studies in psychology. For the past 5 years, I have dived into the world of personal development by attending classes, workshops, and trainings in Yoga, meditation, breathwork, hypnotherapy, bodywork, trauma and stress release modalities.
These experiences have taught me about myself and how to support others in their journey. To look at symptoms of dis-ease as manifestations that signal an internal disharmony that yearns to be recognized and balanced. As a practitioner, my mission is to support my client's transformation of the quality of their lives and relationships through the modalities that I have studies and contemporary psychology.

Daily Morning Sun Practice
Vinyasa Yoga is an energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while synchronizing their breath to their movements. Shayne’s classes integrate a dynamic flow with the application of precise alignment, meditation, visualization, intention and chanting to create an inner journey towards healing and empowerment.
Classes begin with chanting to prepare the mind for a deeper state of consciousness and meditation during asanas (physical practice.) Shayne likes her students to recognize yoga as a sacred practice, she believes if it’s not devotional then it’s not yoga. Each class is designed to systematically stimulate the organs, glands, nervous system and move freshly oxygenated blood to the entire body as you release tension and simultaneously develop faith and intuition.

Thanks to a special permit from its inhabitants, guests of Playa Koralia can discover a true natural treasure forbidden to mass tourism.
This magical Manantial Aluna is reached after an easy hike into an indigenous reservation. You will encounter multicolored fish that swim in these cold waters and discover beautiful waterfalls where you will experience a hydrotherapy like no other.

Designed for all levels. It can be described as a Ying Yang Yoga class with a mix of Hatha. Class will finish with a sound bath awakening a sense of love and devotion.

Kirtan is a sing along of mantras, through which we find our way back to our core, our heart and our relationships with each other.
Chanting mantras connect us with the spiritual wisdom. These ancient chants contain a transformative power and healing energy. We will sing, drum and dance to express our love and devotion.

WELLNESS AND SPA TREATMENTS

The Koralia Spa is sanctuary dedicated to healing the body and recharging the spirit. Located at a point where you receive the warm glow of Caribbean light and the refreshing breeze, you can enjoy a variety of healing, relaxation and beauty treatments.
We recommend you schedule with us any of the treatments before we travel. Limited slots will be available so that treatments do not interfere with our busy daily schedule.

American citizens do not need visa to travel to Colombia.

There are no mandatory vaccines traveling from the US to Colombia.
We do recommend taking Thiamine/Vitamin B1 a couple of weeks before traveling. This helps keep mosquitoes away.

If you are flying from Miami we recommend flying with us as a group. Once you book your spot our travel agent will send you flight details for booking.
There are several airports you can fly into:
Cartagena (5-1/2 hour drive from the resort)
Barranquilla (3-1/2 hour drive from the resort)
Santa Marta (1-1/2 hour drive from the resort)

We recommend all guests to travel in the same flight with one of our team members. We will take a van together from the airport to Playa Koralia and this cost will be included in the retreat rate.
If you plan on traveling on a different flight or date, once you have booked your plane ticket please send us your itinerary so we can help you make arrangements for ground transportation at your own cost.

Playa Koralia offers three farm-to-table meals per day based on our daily chef’s menu. Please let us know your needs when booking your spot, will do everything possible to accommodate your requests.

You can reserve your spot directly on our website or by emaling us. A reservation requires a non-refundable 50% deposit.

Bathing suits, yoga clothes, shorts, tee shirts, flip flops, sneakers or light shoes for excursions. A light sweater in case the night is a little chilly.
Flashlight, bug spray, sunscreen and hat.
Visiting the jungle is an experience! We recommend long sleeves and pants to protect from mosquitos.
Mats and all yoga props will be provided.

We are taking all health and sanitary precautions necessary for the group.
Every participant will be required to submit to Anahta a negative COVID-19 test 2 days prior to traveling.
Our home Playa Koralia is keeping up with high international santization standards.
We have arranged so that no other guests stay at the hotel during our retreat.
All participants will be tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to the USA.
